Our HR staff assists employees with all benefits including health, medical, dental, life and disability insurances. Employees are encouraged to speak to a human resources representative before medical services are rendered that involves more than a routine office visit.

For new employees, benefits are available the first of the month following 90 days of employment if signed up for within ten days of new employee orientation. Employees can add or modify health benefit elections during the hospital’s annual open enrollment period. Located on 8 Memorial, the Employee Health team strives to meet the needs of the hospital’s 2,700 employees by providing a full range of occupational health services; offering episodic primary care for employee convenience; actively managing most Workers’ Compensation claims; and educating staff to decrease needlestick/sharps injuries and increase ergonomic awareness by all departments.

The Crouse Hospital Pharmacy strives to meet the prescription drug and over-the-counter pharmacy needs of the hospital’s 2,700 employees and their dependents; volunteers; and retirees. Since the Employee Pharmacy sells medications to these groups at cost, savings can be significant when compared to purchasing at a retail pharmacy. Before filling a script, it’s best to check pricing with Employee Pharmacy staff first, particularly if you are not covered by the POMCO Group plan.

HelpPeople’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) exists to provide individuals with help when personal problems affect their well-being or work performance. The program espouses a comprehensive, early-intervention policy and, when necessary, referrals to the most cost-effective, least restrictive resources available in the community.

Internist Associates of Central New York, one of the largest internal medicine/primary care practices in the region, has served the Syracuse area for over 50 years, beginning with the goal of providing the highest quality patient care in a courteous, professional and efficient manner. Today, the practice carries on that tradition with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that will work to meet all of your medical needs. The main office is located in the CNY Medical Center. Additional services at the Syracuse location include an on-site radiology department, full service laboratory and diabetes education. The practice also operates a satellite office in the Manlius Health Care Center, which houses three primary care physicians, one nurse practitioner and a patient service center for lab specimen collection.

The Breast Health Center at Crouse Hospital was the first area program to be designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. We offer the latest in digital mammography, image-guided biopsy, breast ultrasound, computer aided detection of malignancy and breast MRI with computer-aided detection. Our comprehensive breast imaging program combines the leadership and expertise of Medical Director Stephen Montgomery, MD – the most experienced breast radiologist in Syracuse – with a team of mammography technologists and certified breast health nurse navigators to provide prompt, accurate screenings combined with individualized comfort, compassion and emotional support.

Our certified breast patient health nurse navigators promote breast health by conducting free clinical breast exams and advising women about self-breast exams. They also provide clinical assistance during various procedures in the center, as well as individualized comfort and support. What’s more, they serve as a liaison between our patients and other departments within the hospital that may be involved with a woman’s breast care and treatment, such as surgical and oncology services.

Crouse Hospital operates the region’s most comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs providing more than 160,000 patient visits annually. The service provides a number of unique treatment programs for patients with special needs. Outpatient, inpatient (including the only hospital-based detoxification unit in Central New York) and residential services are accredited by OASAS, DNV and the Joint Commission. The service also operates the only opioid treatment program in the region.

Physical Rehabilitation services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, hand therapy and speech therapy. Our rehabilitation staff are certified, university-trained specialists who work with other members of the healthcare team. to develop plans to meet each individual’s specific needs. Services are offered in the hospital and at three convenient outpatient locations.
