Cell Phones Donated to Vera House
Since Thanksgiving, Crouse Quality Improvement Analysts Sarah Dawson and Lori Messick, RN, have been coordinating a cell phone drive within the hospital. On Wednesday afternoon, they delivered more than 50 phones to Vera House Executive Director Randi Bregman (pictured left, with Sarah), who said the donation will raise proceeds for Vera House and allow them to provide “Hope Lines” to women in need of immediate access to 911. Thanks to Sarah and Lori for helping make the lives of women in our community who may be in jeopardy of abuse a little safer.
IBEW Donation for NICU
The electrical apprentices of the Central New York JATC, representing IBEW/NECA Local #43, took it upon themselves to make a difference for those less fortunate this holiday season. They provided gifts to children in area hospitals, collected 1,695 pounds of food for the Food Bank of CNY, distributed hats and mittens to local school children and were thoughtful enough to think of our area’s tiniest patients. On Wednesday evening, they came to Crouse to present $250 worth of items (a swing, two bouncey seats and many sleeper outfits) to the babies in our Walter R. G. Baker Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Making the “delivery” to NICU Evening Supervisor Lisa Rock were first-year apprentices Steven Gentile and Mike Perez, along with IBEW Instructor David Nichols. Many thanks, guys, for sharing your holiday spirit!
