Today at Crouse Hospital, the first visit by the Farm Fresh Mobile Market made it easier than ever for employees and visitors to stock up on "bunny food" and hop on the road to wellness. From late morning until early afternoon, folks picked out their goods until virtually all the produce had been sold in just several hours. In fact, according to Diane Turner, coordinator of the Southside Interfaith CDC, sales at Crouse Hospital today broke the all-time record for Mobile Market sales.
Lisa Sansone, RN and Megan Whitton, RN, were among the shoppers and enjoyed being able to pick up some fresh produce right at the hospital while on a break. An initiative of the hospital's new "Simply Well" employee health initiative, the Mobile Market was made possible by a mini-grant from the New York State Department of Health, according to Maureen Fauler, MHA, RD, CDN, manager of clinical nutrition at Crouse and organizer of today's shopping experience.
