National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.
The Nutritional Services team at Crouse Hospital is marking the occasion by accepting donations of nonperishable food items anytime during the month of March. Barrels are located outside the Clock Tower Cafe (in the hospital, basement level) and the Crouse Business Center on S. Crouse Ave. Monetary donations will be gladly accepted as well. To make a donation, just pick up a pre-addressed envelope attached to the collection bins and mail it in. These monetary donations and food items will be presented to the Food Bank of CNY.
On Monday, March 4, the clinical nutrition staff provided handouts on healthy food tips and fruit samples. On Wednesday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Executive Cheff Todd Corcoran will serve up samples of a healthy and delcious fruit smoothie.
