Crouse Hospital’s Walter R. G. Baker Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the region’s only state-designated Level 4 Regional Perinatal Center, serving 15 counties in Upstate New York and providing a full range of services, including cardiac, surgical and neurosurgical care. Each year our neonatal physicians, nurses, and specialty providers care for more than 900 premature and critically ill infants in the Baker NICU, the region’s only Level 4-designated NICU.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, Crouse Hospital’s Women and Infants Services will host “Celebrating Heroes,” a reunion event that will bring together Crouse physicians and staff, parents and NICU “graduates” for an afternoon of remembrance and celebration. This 34th NICU Graduates Reunion will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Marley Education Center, 765 Irving Ave. Free parking will be available in the Marley and Crouse Hospital garages. RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“We're so pleased to welcome back the babies and their families to celebrate these heroes. This is a wonderful opportunity for the NICU 'grads' of all ages to reunite with those who cared for them in their first weeks and months of life,” says Barbara Miller Stahl, BSN, RN, director of women’s and infant’s services.
Many healthy children, teens and even some adults who were once Crouse “preemies” will join together to affirm life and celebrate fellow children who spent their first days, weeks and months in the hospital. The family-friendly environment will include face painting, entertainment and refreshments for all.
