Crouse Hospital has appointed Melinda McMinn, MD, as medical director for the hospital’s Palliative Care Service. In her new role, Dr. McMinn oversees all aspects of the Palliative Care Service as well as provides direct consultation and support to patients and their families. In addition, she provides education regarding advance illness/palliative care services and collaborates with the multidisciplinary advanced illness/palliative care team to ensure patients receive the best care in accordance with the hospital’s mission, vision and values.
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. McMinn is a graduate of SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. She completed her family practice residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and went on to private practice in the Syracuse area. She is currently a clinical assistant professor of family medicine at Upstate Medical University and serves as assistant medical director at Hospice of Central New York.
