Recycling has never looked so good! The Crouse Hospital Auxiliary board invites you to spend an evening viewing high fashion, shopping and dining while supporting a good cause. This year, the Auxiliary’s annual fashion show will feature the earth-friendly creations of students from Syracuse University’s School of Design. These high-fashion creations were made from recycled men’s suits, table cloths and wool sweaters. The event will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at the Oncenter.
Sponsors for the event are Natur-Tyme and the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCCRA). Honorary fashion show chairs are Juli Boeheim, Suzanne Congel and Laura Robinson. All proceeds from the event will benefit Crouse Hospital’s “Operation Innovation” campaign to renovate the surgical suites at the hospital.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with boutique shopping from select vendors and cocktails; dinner will follow at 7 p.m. The fashion show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $50 for dinner and the show, while sponsor tickets are available at additional levels. For ticket information, contact Kimberly Boynton at 470-7376 by Feb. 4.
The Crouse Hospital Auxiliary Board is comprised of more than 500 all-volunteer members. Since 1888, the organization has raised millions of dollars to buy hospital equipment, to provide scholarships for nursing students and to cover the cost of “Visit to Hospital Land,” an ongoing community service project that gives local first-graders a chance to visit the hospital and experience a day as a patient.
