Health Tip: How to Look for Whole Grains

(HealthDay News) -- Whole grains are fiber-rich, heart-healthy foods. But it may be a challenge to find good sources.

The American Diabetes Association cites these common whole-grain choices:

  • Whole wheat flour, whole oats or whole oatmeal.
  • Popcorn, whole grain corn or corn meal.
  • Bulgur (cracked wheat), brown rice or wild rice.
  • Whole grain barley or whole rye.
  • Buckwheat or buckwheat flour.
  • Quinoa, triticale, millet or sorghum.
