Health Tip: Avoid Bathseats for Toddlers10/24/13
(HealthDay News) -- If you're thinking of bathing baby in a bath
seat, the American Academy of Pediatrics advises against use of
A bath seat is designed to bathe baby in a full-size adult
But the AAP says the seats are worrisome because they may tip
over and allow baby to fall out and drown.
The group offers this advice:
- In place of a bath seat, use a hard plastic bathtub, as
recommended by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
- Never take your eyes off baby while in the tub.
- Always keep one hand on baby in the bath.
