(HealthDay News) -- Diabetes increases your risk for developing
a number of health problems, including issues with your mouth,
teeth and gums.
The Mouthhealthy.org website says diabetics are at heightened
risk for these oral health conditions:
- Gum disease, which can be more severe and occur more often in
people with diabetes.
- Fungal infections, which can cause mouth sores and painful
- Infection after dental surgery.
- Increased healing time after dental surgery.
