Health Tip: Opt for Heart-Healthy Holiday Foods12/25/13
(HealthDay News) -- Give your heart a holiday gift this year and
choose delicious, heart-healthy foods.
The American Heart Association suggests these holiday
- Antioxidant-rich sweet potatoes, as well as pumpkin, winter
squash and acorn squash.
- Brussels sprouts (sprinkled with a pinch of brown sugar and
salt) and other green leafy veggies, such as broccoli, kale,
cauliflower or collard greens.
- Unsalted roasted nuts, especially almonds.
- Salmon and other heart-healthy fish, such as mackerel,
sardines, tuna and herring.
