Health Tip: Cold Feet?

Health Tip: Cold Feet?

01/17/14

(HealthDay News) -- The term "trench foot" describes a foot injury caused by extended exposure to cold temperatures and wetness.

The. U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests how to prevent the condition:

  • Promptly take off wet socks and shoes.
  • Dry off feet when they're wet.
  • Minimize walking if your feet have been exposed to cold and wetness.
  • Look for warning signs of trench foot, which may include swelling, blisters, bleeding and numbness.
