As coordinator of nursing research at University Hospital, Upstate Medical University Health System, Dr. Worral’s primary role is to facilitate evidence-based practice (EBP) of nurses at all levels and to guide nurses’ research activities from proposal development, through IRB review and study conduct, to presentation and publication of results.
She also serves as a clinical associate professor for the College of Nursing, at Upstate, and as adjunct professor for the Lienhard School of Nursing, Pace University, New York City. Dr. Worral has published and presented nationally and internationally on EBP and research-related topics.
A member of the Foundation of NYS Nurses Center for Nursing Research Steering Committee, Dr. Worral is co-founder and active member of the Central New York Nurses Collaborative to Advance Research and Evidence-Based Practice (CNY-NCARE). Prior to her career at Upstate, Dr. Worral served for twenty years in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps (USAFNC), where she developed the first USAFNC, the first USAFNC nurse researcher role and the first nursing role as senior health services researcher in the Office of the USAF Surgeon General in Washington, D.C.
