Treatment for Older Adults

About the program

Chemically dependent older adults present a special need in the treatment setting related to physical health, nutrition, spirituality and family and social relationships. Our outpatient older adult program meets the needs of individuals over the age of 50 who are chemically dependent. The program is staffed by specialists with experience in treatment issues affecting older adults.

This flexible and individualized continuum of care includes group, one-to-one counseling, introduction to 12-step self-help meetings, activities therapy, primary addiction education, family treatment and case management. Peer social support is a key aspect of the program.

Treatment costs are covered by most private health insurance companies and by Medicaid and Medicare. A sliding-fee schedule for those without insurance coverage is also available.
