Children's Services
Since it began in 1887, Crouse Hospital has been the premiere institution for pediatric health services, specializing in such areas as pediatric cardiac catherization and acute (in-hospital) care. In fact, we began as Syracuse Hospital for Women and Children with that goal in mind. Continuing that tradition, Crouse Hospital has been designated a 15-county regional center for high-risk maternity and newborn care for more than 22 years.
Because children are the future of our community, Crouse Hospital has focused its efforts on them, by dedicating an extremely high concentration of experienced medical professionals and the latest in technology to make children healthy. As a regional leader in children's healthcare, Crouse Hospital physicians and staff are often engaged in life-saving research and educational efforts. With the high level of care Crouse Hospital provides for children, it's no wonder nearly half of all babies born annually in the county are born here; moms feel safer having their babies here -- just in case their newborns need the special care only we can provide.
