ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

About The Procedure

Echocardiography involves the use of ultrasound in the investigation of the heart and major vessels and diagnosis of cardiovascular lesions.

The most common echocardiography tests -- all performed at Crouse Hospital --include:

Our echocardiography program performs over 3,000 studies annually.



Key Personnel

The department includes three RNs who are all registered diagnostic cardiac sonographers and were previously critical care nurses; one echocardiography/stress test technician and a medical secretary.


Location/Hours

We're located on the first floor of Crouse Hospital's Memorial Cardiac Care Center.

Hours for scheduled procedures are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, in emergent situations, the department staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
