- clearly formulating and communicating job performance expectations and standards;
- recognizing and analyzing performance problems;

(These can sometimes be handled through a referral to HelpPeople.)
- creating and employing disciplinary measures for employees with faltering job performance; and
- the ability to provide regular job-related feedback (including positive reinforcement) to all employees under your supervision.
