Surgical Services at Crouse Hospital

Crouse Hospital's Surgical Services performs more than 22,000 inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures per year. We offer all services except open heart and transplant. Services include:

• Laparoscopic and Laser surgery

Crouse also operates one of the oldest and largest ambulatory outpatient surgery programs in the United States. Our first ambulatory surgery center, located directly across the street from the hospital in the Physicians Office Building, celebrated its 20th year anniversary in 1996. It contains four operating rooms, a 19-bed recovery area, a mini-surgery room and an eye laser treatment room.

Our second ambulatory surgery center opened in 1987. It is located in a 15,800 square-foot facility in the Madison Irving Medical Center, just two blocks north of the main hospital. It contains five operating rooms, an 18-bed recovery area, an infusion therapy room and six preparation rooms.

In 1994, we opened the Recovery Care Center. This is a 23-hour overnight surgical program for outpatients and was the first such program of its kind in central New York.
