This past week has been a special one for me. I hit the 75-pound weight loss mark! Yay!
Support from family and friends has been very important, especially from my grandma, Kathy Taylor. Last fall after my weight loss surgery at Crouse, she gave me a Pandora bracelet. When I lost my first 50 pounds, she gave me my first charm, a green one. This past Sunday, she gave me a blue charm for my 25-pound loss. Each time I lose 25 pounds, she says she'll put a new charm on my bracelet to celebrate!
I love this because each charm represents the progress I've been making... and each charm is about the support my grandma (and her friends) give to me every day, whenever I need it. Like me, they had weight loss surgery at Crouse. So they understand what I'm going through. Also, each month, I go to the Crouse Bariatric Support Group meeting, which is really helpful.
The journey since my bariatric surgery last October hasn't been just about how much I've lost... some weeks, my loss has been less than other weeks (which, honestly, can be a little disappointing). It's also been about how I feel (awesome!) and the better choices I'm making for myself.
But more about that next time. Right now, I'm enjoying my new Pandora charm and all it means to me!
