Visiting a friend or loved one in the hospital may seem stressful. But it doesn’t have to be. At Crouse, our goal is to provide a healing environment and promote a positive experience not only for our patients, but also for their families and visitors.
Family members and friends are encouraged to visit. Patient care, however, is our first concern, so there may be some restrictions on visiting, depending on the patient-care area. While there are no strict rules about the number of visitors for each patient, we do remind visitors that patients in the hospital need their rest and consideration of a roommate and other patients is very important.
Visitors who may not feel secure walking to their parking location for any reason may request an escort by a Crouse Hospital Security staff member. Please ask about this service, available 24 hours a day, at the Irving Lobby Information Desk.
If you have any questions or comments, please see a staff member or contact our Patient & Guest Relations department at 315/470-8781 or e-mail. For patient information, please call 315/470-7511.
Visiting hours in most patient-care units are 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. If you’re planning on staying past 8:30 p.m., please obtain special permission from the charge nurse on the floor.
Visiting Hours:
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Visitors are limited to two from the immediate family at any one time.
Parents may visit at any time with the exception of shift change times, which occur 7 to 7:30 a.m.; 3 to 3:30 p.m.; 7 to 7:30 p.m. and 11 to 11:30 p.m.
As a result of the prevalence of seasonal flu and the H1N1 virus in our community, Crouse Hospital has implemented the following visitation guidelines, which are in place until further notice:
- Visiting hours are noon to 8 p.m.
- Patients may have up to two visitors PER DAY. They must be the same two visitors per day. (Some exceptions apply; please ask at the Irving Ave. lobby information desk.)
- Visitors must be age 18 years or older.
- If you feel sick, please wait to visit the hospital until you are better.
As a visitor, you can help prevent the spread of germs by washing your hands before and after visiting. Hand washing stations are located at the entrance to all patient rooms and in many other areas of the hospital. For the safety of our patients and staff, we request that visitors with a cold, the flu, or other contagious illness or symptoms delay their visit until they are well.
Crouse Hospital is a totally smoke-free environment – inside and out. For the health of our patients, visitors and employees, smoking is not permitted inside our facilities or within 100 feet of any hospital-owned property. Thank you for your understanding.
