Diane Zeni deFerrante, MD, has joined the palliative medicine team at Crouse Health.
Most recently Dr. deFerrante split her time between Cortland Regional Medical Center, where she practiced inpatient palliative medicine and geriatric medicine, and Hospicare of Cortland County where she was Associate Medical Director.
Prior to relocating to Central New York two years ago, Dr. deFerrante spent her entire career working for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. There, she practiced as a family physician and hospitalist before finding her passion practicing hospice and palliative medicine. She served many years as medical director for Kaiser Permanente’s home-based hospice and palliative medicine program.
Dr. deFerrante received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in California. She is board certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine.
“We are pleased to add a physician of Dr. deFerrante’s caliber to Crouse’s palliative medicine program,” says Mindy McMinn, MD, medical director of the program, which in 2016 provided care and comfort to more than1,680 patients and their families at Crouse Hospital.
