Crouse’s Medical Imaging Department is staffed by some of the most highly trained physicians and imaging professionals in Central New York. Our team includes board-certified radiologists, advanced practice providers such as physicians assistants and nurse practitioners, registered radiologist assistants and registered nurses with specialized expertise in medical imaging. Our radiologic technologists are licensed by the New York State Department of Health and are specially trained in their areas of expertise. Their advanced training and experience help ensure safe, accurate, and high-quality imaging for every patient. Radiology administration and clerical staff provide essential support to the department by ensuring efficient scheduling, communication, documentation, and workflow coordination, enabling clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
The Medical Imaging Department provides comprehensive services, including X-ray, CT (with angiographic and cardiac imaging), interventional radiology with vascular procedures, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and MRI to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Nicholas D’Ambrosia, MD – Medical Director
Dr. D’Ambrosio earned his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University before pursuing his medical education at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine and completed his internship in Internal Medicine. He went on to complete a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, followed by advanced subspecialty training through a Neuroradiology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Cornell University in partnership with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology with a subspecialty in Neuroradiology, Dr. D’Ambrosio has demonstrated a sustained commitment to clinical excellence and academic advancement. Since 2011, he has served as Division Chief of Neuroradiology at Crouse Hospital, where he has played a key leadership role in advancing the department’s clinical and educational mission.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. D’Ambrosio is an active contributor to the field of radiology. He has delivered presentations at national conferences on a range of topics in both adult and pediatric neuroradiology. His scholarly work includes multiple original peer-reviewed publications, and his research has been cited in numerous journals, reflecting his contributions to both general diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology.
