The American Hospital Association (AHA) announced that it has honored Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y, in appreciation for its 100 years of participation and leadership in the AHA. Crouse Hospital is a part of Crouse Health.
AHA Regional Executive Michael Draine presented the award to Crouse Health president and CEO Seth Kronenberg, MD, on December 4.
“The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize Crouse Hospital for 100 years of membership in the AHA and for their dedication to Central New York,” said AHA Regional Executive Michael Draine. “We thank their leaders, medical staff, caregivers and other colleagues for providing a full range of medical care that is tailored to meet each patient’s needs.”
Crouse Hospital is a 506-bed hospital with key services in cardiology, neuroscience, women & infants and much more. The hospital is a major employer in Central New York and a regional referral center for high-risk neonatal intensive care.
Crouse Health serves more than 23,000 inpatients, 56,000 emergency services visits and more than 600,000 outpatients a year.

Crouse Hospital has been in operation since 1887, when it was founded as the Syracuse Women’s Hospital and Training School for Nurses, which was the only hospital in the area that would admit women and children at the time.
