Crouse Health is proud to announce that its Pomeroy Emergency Services Department has been awarded the Bronze Standard Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). This national recognition highlights Crouse’s commitment to providing high-quality, specialized emergency care for older adults in Central NY.
The accreditation reflects the dedication of an interdisciplinary team led by Medical Director David Mason, MD, whose efforts have strengthened Crouse’s ability to meet the unique needs of seniors.
The GEDA program recognizes emergency departments that implement best practices in geriatric care – including geriatric policies, staff education, and appropriate equipment and screening tools. Level 3 accreditation recognizes emergency departments that incorporate many of these best practices and demonstrate leadership in geriatric care improvement.
